SPECIAL MEETING
CLOSED SESSION
Mayor Soto called the Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of San Juan
Capistrano to order at 6:01 p.m. in the City Council Chamber,
ROLL CALL
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Sam Allevato, Tom Hribar, Dr. Londres Uso, Mayor
pro tem Mark Nielsen and Mayor Joe Soto
COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: None
Omar Sandoval, City Attorney, announced that with regard to Closed Session Item a,
the City Council will also meet with its real property negotiator which includes the City
Manager and members of the Open Space Committee, Finance Subcommittee.
PUBLIC COMMENT — CLOSED SESSION ITEMS:
Mayor Soto invited the public to provide comment. There was no public comment and
the meeting was moved to Closed Session chambers.
CLOSED SESSION (610,851
A Closed Session was held for the following purposes, as authorized by statute:
a. Pursuant to Government Code section 54956.8, the City Council met with its
Real Property Negotiator (City Manager) concerning the terms for the purchase,
sale, exchange or lease of certain real property, Assessor's Parcels Nos. 637-
083-15, 637-082-16, 637-082-17, 637-082-71, 637-082-64, 637-082-65, 637-
082-66, 637-082-67 and 637-082-68 located generally at the northwest
boundaries of the City. The property owner is Crystal Cathedral Ministries.
b. Pursuant to Government Code § 54956.9(a), the City Council conferred with
legal counsel pertaining to existing litigation in the case of Marbella Development
Company v. City of San Juan Capistrano.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF CLOSED SESSION ACTIONS - Omar Sandoval, City Attorney,
announced that no reportable actions were taken during closed session.

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Mayor Soto adjourned the meeting at 8:12 p.m. to
Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. for Closed Session, and 6:30 p.m. for the
public Business Session in the City Council Chamber.
