Mayor Taylor called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the San Juan Capistrano
City Council to order at 3:05 p.m, in the City Council Chamber,

Mayor pro tem Sam Allevato and Mayor John Taylor
COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: None.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
DISCUSSION ITEM:
C1. CONSIDERATION OF CONSTRUCTION OPINION OF PROBABLE COST FOR
THE NORTHWEST OPEN SPACE, PHASE 1 COMMUNITY PARK AND
AUTHORIZE PREPARATION OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (CIP 09209)

Nelson Miller, Interim Development Services Director, provided a PowerPoint
presentation and responded to questions.
Public Comments: Phil Schwartze, Bonsai[ resident.
Council Action: Moved by Mayor pro tem Allevato, seconded by Council Member
Byrnes, and carried 4-1 with Council Member Reeve opposed to authorize staff
to prepare a Request for Proposals for the preparation of the construction design
for the improvements for the Northwest Open Space, Phase 1 Community Park,
with the following caveat: 1) continue discussions with property owners to see if
there is an opportunity to work with them on a mutual benefit basis; and 2)
forward to the Parks, Recreation and Senior Services Commission and the
Open Space, Trails and Equestrian Commission for their review.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP 12201) (410.40)

presentation and responded to questions.

Council Action: Moved by Council Member Kramer, seconded by Mayor pro tem
Allevato, and carried 4-1 with Council Member Reeve opposed to approve
Option B (Wood Sign — Pilasters) and Bronze Plaque for the entry monument
sign at Reata Park and Event Center; and approve the funding of the selected
sign option from Capital Improvement Project (CIP) 12201.
