"I ask the Council to ensure that Camino Real Playhouse remains a vibrant part of historic downtown San .Tuan Capistrano and renew the license agreement under the same terms and conditions that have benefited all of us in San .duan Capistrano for the past quarter of a century." My daughter has become a different person since joining the Acting Academy for Kids at CAMINO REAL PLAYHOUSE. She has become confident, engaging, animated, conscientious and more self- assured. Being involved at the playhouse with a diverse group of kids, has given my daughter a sense of belonging that she has never felt with her peers, prior to becoming involved in theater at Camino Real Playhouse. Being part of this community of young actors is a vital part of my daughter's life and I cannot imagine such a loss for her and her theater peers. We have been part of other theater programs, however, we do my intend on returning to any other than AA4K at Camino Real Playhouse. The experience there is far superior to others in the county. Our family hopes to be involved with Camino Real Playhouse and AA4K for many years to come. Dear Council, 1 am writing to implore youu to renew the current license agreement with the Camino Real Playhouse. To even have the license agreement for the Camino Real Playhouse under review indicates an extreme disconnect of the Council members to the impact of the Playhouse on the community. Not only is the Playhouse extraordinary in its historic value and architectural beauty, the impact on the community is undeniable. The level of the productions is truly beyond compare among other small community venues (even some larger venues) and the actors that are drawn to this playhouse are amazing, many with a professional resume. l.f you have never attended a production at the playhouse you gleed to do so. However, you better purchase tickets early as most performances are sold out well in advance due to the level of excitement and enthusiasm from the patrons, many who have been attending plays for decades with their family and friends. For future gencrations to miss out on this experience would be tragic. One visit to the Playhouse, and you will understand that this venue could never be duplicated and it is in the best interest of the residents of San Juan Capistrano and surrounding cities to have this experience continue. Please allow the Playhouse to continue the amazing work they are doing in bringing the arts to the community. San Juan Capistrano by renewing the license agreement Loader the same terms and conditions that have benefited all of us in San Juan Capistrano and surrounding areas for the past quarter of a century. The Camino Real Playhouse is an authentic theatrical community that is unparalleled in Orange County and. brings people, business and commerce to San Juan Capistrano and all of its businesses. For the Acting Academy for Kids, people travel from all over Orange County to come to San Juan and support local businesses. If you remove the playhouse, you will definitely see a downturn in the San Juan economy and bring less customers and patrons to the area. The people who come to the Camino Real Playhouse are a respectful, professional, intelligent, and beneficial addition to the area, making the Playhouse a draw for high -spending people from all over Orange County who would otherwise never come to San ,Tuan, Also, the Playhouse houses multiple activities daily, simultaneously, and all day, (often 4 to 5 paying activities at any time during the day, including private lessons, parties, children's theater, the adult theatre, the main stage, the black box, and workshops) so it can be viewed as a busy and productive private institution of learning in addition to a nighttime performance venue, bringing high -paying people to San Juan all day long and bringing multitudes of funds to San Juan all day long and every day of the week. Please do not close the playhouse! If anything, add paid parking for it! Sincerely, Tiffany Freeman 25 6/16/2015 Christy JA[ Ela From: W. The city of San ,Juan Capistrano is particularly blessed to have a local playhouse within walking distance of several historical sites and the train station. All these factors make our city a more attractive reason to visit. The talent that it brings in for performances as well as the wide pull of audience members reach well beyond our city limits. These people are often introduced to the wonderful restaurants, quaint shops and historical sites simply by coming to the playhouse. The absence of our local theater would be detrimental to what makes San .Juan Capistrano unique. Theater arts is vital to enhancing a sense of community among residents and visitors to our city, as well as expanding creative endeavors in sight, thought and shared experiences, That combination is not found in any other medium on a continuous basis and varied level of genre to entice vast ranging ages and socio/economic people to enjoy. "I ask the Council to erasure that Camino Real Playhouse remains a vibrant part of historic downtown San Juan Capistrano and renew the license agreement under the same terms and conditions that have benefited all of us in San Juan Capistrano for the past quarter of a century." When I was a Little kid, I played Paula Bunyan, yes Paula, in the Musical, AMERICA'S TALLEST" TALES. It was my first lead role ever! I went on to graduated from OCHSA's Music & Theater program, and perform in packed houses at The La Mirada Performing Arts Center, San Gabriel. Civic Auditorium, and Fullerton College. The Camino Real Playhouse was very important in my youth and it is still an important institution belonging to the Southern Orange County area- an area particularly lacking in duality theater experiences. Please renew the license agreement. I couldn't imagine a San Juan Capistrano without The Canino Real Playhouse. -Melissa. The Camino Real Playhouse plays an important part in my family's life. We go there regularly either for our kids' plays or to attend other shows. It specifically draws us to San Juan Capistrano from. Ladera Ranch and while we are there, we often further contribute to the SJC economy by going t0 the local restaurants and. shops. We would dearly miss the Playhouse if it were no longer there. I ask the Council to ensure that Camino Real Playhouse remains a vibrant part of historic downtown San Juan Capistrano and renew the license agreement under the same terms and conditions that have benefited all of us in San Juan Capistrano for the past quarter of a century.
