ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
BUSINESS SESSION:
Mayor Ferguson called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of January 12, 2017, of the
City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano to order at 5:39 p.m. in the
City Council Chamber. Council Member Maryott led the Pledge of Allegiance and
Mayor Ferguson gave the invocation.

Moved by Council Member Reeve but failed due to lack of a second to
direct staff to bring to the City Council a Resolution and Ordinance to restructure
and merge the Parks, Recreation, Senior and Youth Services Commission, and
the Trails and Equestrian Commission to a seven (7) member Parks, Recreation,
Trails and Equestrian Commission; and, revise City Council Policy 202 requiring
interviews for the newly merged commission to be conducted in open session
meetings by the City Council as a whole.

Maryott, and carried 4-1 with Council Member Reeve opposed to direct staff to
bring to the City Council a Resolution and Ordinance to restructure and merge
the Parks, Recreation, Senior and Youth Services Commission, and the Trails

and Equestrian Commission.

Reeve, and carried unanimously to table the assessment of City playground
equipment until the upcoming mid -year budget update.

There being no further business Mayor Ferguson adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
to Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. for Closed Session, and 5:00 p.m. for the
public Business Session, in the City Council Chamber; and then to Friday,
January 27, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. for a City Council Retreat, in Marie Callender's
Restaurant Banquet Room, at 31791 Del Obispo Street, San Juan Capistrano.
