It is a policy of the City Council that any resident or civic organization requesting
permission to close a public street provide a written request to the City Engineer no less
than 60 days before the requested closure. The City Engineer shall review and make a
recommendation to the City Council for such a request. Any person from an organization
requesting such closure shall provide the necessary traffic control devices and not disrupt
the flow of thru traffic.
The City Engineer shall have the authority to approve minor street closures causing
minimal inconvenience to the public if a petition of support is provided signed by a majority
of the effected residents.
