SUBJECT: 1991-92 Memorandum of Understanding with District General
SITUATION
Negotiations with the District's General Employees for the 1991-92
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has resulted in an MOU with the
same basic financial cost as the MOU presented for Classified City
of San Juan Capistrano employees. The basic difference between the
City and District MOUs is that the District employees have
requested an additional 1% in salary increase in return for
accepting a change in medical insurance benefits that will result
in an annual 1% reduction in medical insurance costs to the
District. The MOU is attached.
FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS
The proposed MOU results in a cost to the District of approximately
$9,560 more than contained in the 1991-92 Budget for Salary and
Medical Insurance Increases. These funds are available in the
District's unallocated operating fund balance.
ALTERNATE ACTION
1. Approve the 19 91-9 2 Memorandum of Understanding with the
District's General Employees and authorize the Chairman
to sign the Memorandum.
2. Request additional information from the staff.
RECOMMENDATION
By motion, approve the 1991-92 Memorandum of Understanding with the
District's General Employees and authorize the Chairman to sign the
Memorandum.
