ORDINANCE NO. 282
RELATING TO OFF-SITE SUBDIVISION DIRECTIONAL SIGNS
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO,
CALIFORNIA, DEFERRING THE ACCEPTANCE OF PERMITS FOR OFF-SITE
SUBDIVISION DIRECTIONAL SIGNS, AND EXTENDING THE
PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 273 (URGENCY)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 273 be and is hereby extended
until such time as those provisions of the City's zoning ordinances
relating to off-site subdivision directional signs have been revised
and adopted by the Planning Commission and the City Council, or for
a period of eight (8) months, whichever shall first occur.
SECTION 2: This ordinance is an interim urgency ordinance
adopted pursuant to Section 65858 of the Government Code for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and
welfare, and shall, accordingly, take effect immediately. The
facts constituting the urgency are as follows:
Ordinance No. 273 was adopted on July 17, 1974 as an
urgency measure pursuant to Section 65858 of the Government Code
for a period of four (4) months. Under the terms of the aforesaid
statute, Ordinance 273 becomes void on November 17, 1974. The
Planning Staff of the City of San Juan Capistrano is still in the
process of studying the provisions of the zoning code relating to
off-site subdivision directional signs, and will include appropriate
revisions and amendments relating thereto in the City's new zoning
and land use ordinance. The City Council believes the extension of
the deferral period pending the adoption of such an ordinance is
necessary for the properand orderly administration of the affairs
of the city.

1974, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Sweeney, Nash, Heckscher
and Mayor Byrnes
NOES: Councilman Weathers
