ORDINANCE NO. 280
RELATING TO SCHOOL ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO,
CALIFORNIA, REQUIRING THE POSTING OF INFORMATION
REGARDING SCHOOL ATTENDANCE AND CLASS SCHEDULING
IN SUBDIVISION SALES OFFICES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Every person, firm or corporation developing
and selling or offering for sale residential property within an
approved new residential subdivision in the City of San Juan
Capistrano shall prominently and visibly post, and thereafter
maintain, in its model homes sales offices a sign, with dimensions
not less than 24" by 36". The first sentence of the sign, stating
"Some Schools in San Juan Capistrano are Overcrowded," shall be in
letters not less than 2" high. The remaining text shall be in
letters and numbers not less than 1" high. The sign shall read
as follows:
"SOME SCHOOLS IN SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO ARE OVERCROWDED.
"THIS SALES OFFICE IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE EACH
PROSPECTIVE PURCHASER A COPY OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT'S
LATEST REPORT ON THE ATTENDANCE, CLASS SCHEDULING AND
OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION
ON SCHOOL ATTENDANCE ZONES AND CLASS SCHEDULING, CONTACT
THE CAPISTRANO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT AT 26126 VICTORIA
BOULEVARD, CAPISTRANO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, TELEPHONE
NO. 496-1215."
SECTION 2, Any person, firm or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.00 or imprison-
ment in the County Jail for a period not to exceed six months, or
by both such fine and imprisonment, or by withdrawal of any
temporary Use and Occupancy Permit previously issued for any model
home or sales office within the subdivision.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published once in a
newspaper of general circulation within fifteen (15) days following
the passage thereof.
