EXTENDING ORDINANCE NO. 537 - PROHIBITING CERTAIN

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO,
CALIFORNIA, EXTENDING ORDINANCE NO. 537
PROHIBITING CERTAIN LAND USES WITHIN THE CITY
PENDING A ZONING STUDY PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT
CODE SECTION 65858 (URGENCY)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO HEREBY
ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
On May 7, 1985, the City Council adopted interim
prohibitions against the establishment of certain land uses
within the City of San Juan Capistrano.
The Community Planning and Development Department has
recommended an additional period of time be taken to study the
potential for permanent zoning regulations governing the land
uses described in Ordinance No. 537. The City Council hereby
finds that there is a current and immediate threat to the public
health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of San
Juan Capistrano should any land uses described in Ordinance No.
537 be developed without the benefit of specific zoning
regulations governing said uses.
SECTION 2.
Based upon the foregoing findings in Section 1, the
City Council hereby extends Ordinance No. 537 for a period of 10
months and 15 days.
SECTION 3. Effective Date.
This urgency Ordinance is enacted pursuant to
Government Code Section 65858 and shall take effect and be in
full force immediately.

136 SECTION 4. City Clerk's Certification.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Ordinance and cause the same to be published once as required by
law and posted at the duly designated posting places within the
City of San Juan Capistrano within fifteen (15) days after its
passage.
