AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO SECTION 9-3.415
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ALLOW ADDITIONAL
MANUFACTURING AND COMPOUNDING USES IN THE
COMMERCIAL MANUFACTURING DISTRICT (SPAULDING/
SYCAMORE BUSINESS PARK)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Findings.
The City Council finds that the manufacturing and processing uses that are
proposed to be added as additional permitted uses in the Commercial Manufacturing
District will be consistent with the District's intent in that these uses are manufacturing
and similar in nature to those limited manufacturing uses already allowed as principal
uses. This amendment will not duplicate the Industrial Manufacturing District, but will
allow two of its 14 principal uses to be permitted in Commercial Manufacturing Districts
City-wide.
SECTION 2. Adding Section 9-3.415 (b) (24).
Based on the findings set forth in Section 1 preceding, the City Council ordains
that Section 9-3.415 of the Municipal Code shall be amended to allow the following
manufacturing and processing uses in the Commercial Manufacturing District:

Section 9-3.415 (b) (24). The following uses shall be permitted in the
Commercial Manufacturing District as additional principal uses:
Manufacturing and assembly of retail and wholesale items to a finished
product. Such items may be made from bone, cellophane, fiber, fir, glass,
latex, ceramics, pottery, lead, leather, metal, paper, plastics, wood or yarn.
Compounding, processing, packaging, and treatment of such products as candy,
cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, excluding the rendering of
refining of fats and oils.
SECTION 3. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days after its

SECTION 4. City Clerk's Certification.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause the
same to be published once as required by law and posted at the duly designated posting
places within the City of San Juan Capistrano within fifteen (15) days after its passage.
