SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
Mayor Uso called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at
5:02 p.m. in the City Council Chamber.
ROLL CALL
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Sam Allevato, Tom Hribar, Mark Nielsen,
Mayor pro tem Laura Freese and Mayor Uso
COUNCIL MEMBERS/DIRECTORS ABSENT: None
PUBLIC COMMENT ON CLOSED SESSION ITEMS:
CLOSED SESSION (610.85)
A Closed Session was held for the following purposes, as authorized by statute:
a� Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(c), the City Council conferred with
legal counsel pertaining to one potential item for initiation of litigation.
b. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a), the City Council conferred with
legal counsel pertaining to existing litigation in the writ of mandate matter of Scalzo
vs. City of San Juan Capistrano.
c. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(b), the City Council conferred with
legal counsel pertaining to an item of significant exposure to litigation pertaining to
facts or circumstances not yet known to a potential plaintiff.
d. Pursuant to Government Code section 54957.6, the City Council conferred with its
labor negotiator (City Manager) as to negotiations with represented employees
pertaining to salaries, salary schedules, benefits, and terms of employment. The
affected bargaining units are San Juan Capistrano Classified Employees
Association and San Juan Management and Professional Employee's Association.
e. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a), the City Council conferred with
legal counsel pertaining to existing litigation in the matter of Save Our San Juan vs.
City of San Juan Capistrano (Koll).
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a), the City Council conferred with
legal counsel pertaining to existing litigation in the matter of Marbella Development
Company vs. City of San Juan Capistrano (Koll).
g. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(b), the City Council conferred with
legal counsel pertaining to the. claims from David Manthe, Eduardo Lara, Lydia Doll,
and Cathy Bugna.
