Minutes of the Regular Adjourned Meeting of the City Council of San Juan Capistrano
MARCH 12, 1965
The regular adjourned meeting of the City Council was called to order
at 10:15 A, M., by Mayor Don Durnford.
The City Clerk called the roll: Councilmen present were: William A.
Bathgate, Antonio M. (Tony) Olivares and Don Durnford. Councilmen absent
were: Carl E. Buchheim and Edward S. Chermak.
Item No. 1:
The Mayor announced that this was the time and place fixed for the
opening of bids for the construction of certain improvements in Assessment
District No. 64-1 in the City of San Juan Capistrano, California, as
described in Resolution No. 64-12-14-1.
The Clerk announced that he had received 10 bids. Whereupon all bids
were publicly opened, examined and declared, from the following bidders,
to wit:
a. Beeker & Jack E. Collins...........................$327,635.75
b. Orange County Pipeline, Inc ........................ 355,172.50
c. Dorfman Construction Co., Inc ...................... 327,175.00
d. Famco Construction Company ......................... 358,815.50
e. Bejac Construction Co .............................. 284,368.";0
£. Peter Salata Construction, Inc ..................... 315,535.20
g. R. L. Thibodo Construction ......................... 302,604.42
h. Colich Construction Company ........................ 279,336.60
i. Henson Construction, Inc ........................... 348,069.75
j. Chas. L. Burch & Sons, Inc ......................... 313,342.00
On motion of Councilman Bathgate, seconded by Councilman Olivares,
and unanimously carried, the bids were referred to the Engineer for checking
and report back to this Council as to the lowest regular responsible bid.
The Engineer, Leonard Melberg, reported to the Council that he desired
more time to examine the various bids submitted, and suggested to the
Council that further consideration of the awarding of the contract for the
improvement of Assessment District No. 64-1 be continued to the next meeting
of the Council. On motion of Councilman Bathgate, seconded by Councilman
Olivares, further consideration of the bids for said improvement was continued
to the next regular meeting of the Council, the Engineer to make his report
and recommendation at that time.

Item No. 2:
Agreements - C. Russell Cook and Margaret Cook - acceptance:
Mayor Durnford made a motion to accept the Agreements from C. Russell
Cook and Margaret Cook. Councilman Bathgate seconded the motion and it
carried unanimously. So ordered.
The meeting adjourned at 11:28 A. M. n
