Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the City Council of San Juan Capistrano
March 11, 1963
The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order at 7:30 p.m, by
Mayor Carl E. Buchheim.
The pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited. The invocation was given
by the City Clerk, Ernest A. Thompson.
The City Clerk called the roll; Councilmen present were: William A. Bathgate,
Eric F. Cliff, Don Durnford, Antonio M. (Tony) Olivares, and Carl E. Buchheim;
Councilmen absent: none.
The minutes of the previous meeting held February 25, 1963, were approved
as submitted.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS:
City Clerk, Ernest A. Thompson, read a letter from the Orange County Associa-
tion of Mental Health, requesting permission for their fund-raising drive, campaign
April 28 - May 31, 1963.
Councilman Durnford moved that the request be denied. Seconded by Councilman
Olivares and carried unanimously.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:
Mr. Robert L. Smith was to appear before the Council regarding Business License
protest, Mr. Smith was not in attendance.
TREASURER'S REPORT:
The monthly report of the financial status of the City of San Juan Capistrano
for the month ending February 28, 1963, was submitted by the City Treasurer, Mrs.
Alice Ross.
Councilman Durnford made a motion to approve and accept the Treasurer's report
for the month of February, 1963. The motion was duly seconded by Councilman Cliff.
Motion passed and report ordered filed.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
The reports of the Sewer District Committee and Master Drainage Study will be
taken up later in the meeting.
PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS:
(a) Public Hearings - announcements were given by Ed Holtz, Secretary of the
Planning Commission, regarding the following public hearings:
