4. Councilman Durnford requested leave of absence for the next
regular Council meeting.
Motion was made, seconded and carried, to permit the leve of
absence.
5. Proclamation of Mayor.Buchheim, in response to a memorandum
from the Orange County Medical Association, declaring the Sundays of
October 21st and 28th, December 2nd and 9th, and January.20th and 27th
to be official polio Sundays.
The meeting adjourned at 8:55 P.M., and the City Council entered
into an Executive Session to interview Mr. Jack Hall, and Mr. Bill Hay-
nes of Hall, Haynes and Associates, for consideration of retaining them
to serve as City Engineer.
Also, the matter of appointing another member to the Planning Com-
mission to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Fred L. Newhart,
Jr, was taken into consideration.
From three names submitted, Steve Goya was considered by majority
vote to be the appointed member.
The meeting adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
Additional Notes:
1. Mr. Frank Keelan informally presented a proposal and procedure
for using the Municipal Improvement Act of 1913.
2. Councilman Cliff requested the City Clerk to mail postal card
notices to each councilman when meetings are to be held other than the
regularly scheduled council meetings.
