Minutes of the Special Meeting of the City Council of San Juan Capistrano
SEPTEMBER 1. 1965
Mayor Don Durnford called the meeting to order at 5:33 P.M•
The City Clerk called the roll, with all members responding, to wit:
William A. Bathgate, Carl E. Buchheim, Edward S. Chermak, Antonio M. (Tony) Olivares
and Don Durnford.
The specific matter to be considered at the Special Meeting so called was
to determine the establishment and imposing of that tax rate for the Capistrano
Beach Maintenance District #1 lying within the corporate limits yet served by the
Capistrano Beach Sanitary District.
Discussion followed, with the revealing that the Joint Powers Agreement
provided for the payment of the base assessment rate imposed by that district
(Capistrano Beach Sanitary District), plus 15%, thus projecting a rate of $0.8165
per $100.00 assessed valuation.
Councilman Buchheim offered such a resolution to establish and impose a tax
rate in specifics of $0.8165 per $100.00 assessed valuation. The resolution was
passed, accepted and adopted by a unanimous vote.
There being no further business to be brought up at this time, the meeting
adjourned at 5:36 P.M.
