REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING - CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
1. Meeting called to order: 7:00 P.M.
2. The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance.
3. Roll call: Bathgate, Chermak, Gammell, Thorpe and Forster.
All present.
4. Unfinished Business:
a) City Health Insurance Program - Councilman Thorpe reported
on his meeting with the Finance Director and stated the plan
was relatively good plan with extensions of benefits avail-
able, such as dental and disability insurance. Another good
feature was the guarantee of no rate change for three years.
Discussion followed concerning aspects of the plan. Council-
man Thorpe moved to adopt the plan. Councilman Bathgate
seconded and motion carried unanimously.
b) City Administrator -City Clerk. Discussion centered on cri-
teria for the position and method of recruitment for the new
City Administrator. Mayor appointed committee consisting of
Councilman Bathgate and Councilman Thorpe to work on the
matter and to report back to Council at the next meeting.
Mr. Johns will meet with them also.
5. Council recessed to a work session at 7:28 P.M. The City Planning
Commission and the Parks and Recreation Commission were present.
6. Council reconvened to a regular adjourned meeting at 9:25 P.M.
7. New Business:
a) Air Transportation Study - Phase II. This item having been
discussed at previous work session with Planning Commission
and Parks Commission. Mayor called for Council comments.
Consensus was that Council would not take a position at this
time. Mayor, with Council consent, stated that individual
members of Council and Commission could attend the meeting,
identifying themselves and speak as individuals.
b) Parks Commission - Clean up San Juan Terrace Park site. Item
to be on next agenda.
8. Adjournment: 9:42 P.M.
