SPECIAL MEETING -CITY COUNCIL -CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
The special meeting of the City Council, held at the E1 Adobe
Restaurant, San Juan Capistrano was called to order by Mayor Bvrnes
at 6:10 P.M.
The Pledge of Allegiance and invocation were dispensed with for
the special meeting.
ROLL CALL: Councilmen Present: Roy L. Byrnes, Edward S. Chermak
Josh Gammell, James F. Thorpe,
James K. Weathers
Staff Present: Weidner
Mayor Byrnes introduced Congressman Andrew Hinshaw and Mr. Chip
Cleary to the City Council, members of the press and public who were
present.
PRESENTATION BY CONGRESSMAN HINSHAW
Congressman Hinshaw made a brief presentation on legislative matters
considered in the recent congressional session.
Informal discussion then followed between council members and
Congressman Hinshaw on governmental matters of mutual interest. Congress-
man Hinshaw responded to questions from councilmen, the press and the
public.
CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSED CONTRACT FOR CITY CLERK SERVICES
The City Manager informed council, that based on reactions from
individual councilmen, he had determined to have Mrs. Jo Bennitt
commence City Clerk duties on January 2, 1974..
The formal agreement for the provision of these services has been
placed on the January 7, 1974 agenda for council ratification.
There being no further business, the special meeting adjourned at
9:50 P.M.
