ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA
The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Representatives of the City's Appointive Commissions and Boards
were present, as well as the City Manager; Director of Public
Works, Director of Community Planning and Development, Director
of Recreation; and City Clerk.
Mayor Friess advised that the purpose of the meeting was to
provide Council and Commission Members with an informal update
on City parks and programs and on future development projects
in process, with no decisions to be made.
LOS RIOS PARK - ALLOCATION OF STATE FUNDS
(62) Mayor Friess announced that Russell Cahill, State Director
of Parks and Recreation, had advised that the City will
receive $250,000 in State discretionary funds for the
acquisition of land for Los Rios Park, a proposed 9 -acre
park to be located between the Trabuco Creek Channel,
Ramos Street, Los Rios Street and the old River Street.
STATUS OF PARKS AND RECREATION FACILITIES
(62) The Director of Recreation made a slide presentation covering
existing parks and buildings, other community and regional
recreation facilities, planned facilities, perceived
deficiencies and priorities. Ray Becerra, Senior Planner,
advised of the status of C. Russell Cook Park improvements,
open space available in the Glendale Federal property, and
the proposed Los Rios Park.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
The Director of Community Planning and Development made an oral
presentation on the following projects:

Camino Las Ramblas, west of Via California
2. Las Ramblas Professional Building -
Camino Las Ramblas, east of Via California
' 3. Cottage Office Complex - Rancho
Viejo Road and Mission Hills Drive
4. Department of Motor Vehicles Office -
San Juan Creek Road, west of San Juan Animal Hospital
5. C. Russell Cook Park (Ortega Properties) -
Park plans for Planning Sector C of the Ortega
Planned Community. To be located between
La Novia Avenue and I-5, adjacent to San Juan Creek
6. Professional Office Complex -
San Juan Creek Road, east of the Capistrano Tennis Club

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
9:20 P.M., to the next regular meeting date of Wednesday,
December 19, 1979, at 7:00 P.M., in the City Council Chambers.
