ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA
The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City
of San Juan Capistrano, California, was called to order by
Mayor Schwartze at 7:10 P.M., in the San Juan Hot Springs Dance
Hall, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

ABSENT: None

William D. Murphy, Director of Public Works; Cindy Ferguson,

(74) Written Communications:
(85) (1) Report dated August 25, 1981, from the Director of
Public Works, submitting modified landscape maintenance
rates for the Misssion Woods, Los Corrales, Belford
Terrace, Mission Springs, and Sea View Estates
developments for 1981-82. The modified charges reflect
a reduction in District deficits by the amount of the
1980-81 administrative charges, as follows:
Councilman Bland arrived at 7:20 P.M. and assumed his duties.
The City Manager advised that the ad hoc committee composed
of Councilmen Buchheim and Hausdorfer and staff had discussed
problems with administration of the six Districts and
potential solutions to those problems, with recommendations
reflected in the Report. The recommendations include
selective re -planting in some areas, preparation of a work
schedule by landscape contractors so that the public can be
advised where and when work crews can be expected, and
continued review during the coming year of such cost-saving
measures as consolidation and improved contract terms and
standards.
General discussion with members of the audience ensued and
Council advised that the City has made a commitment to improve
the landscape services and that a City employee has been
assigned to oversee the contractors' work.

THE COST REPORT FOR 1981
DISTRICTS CHARGES IN THE

CONFIRMING COST
CALIFORNIA, CONFIRMING
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE
CITY OF SAN JUAN
The motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Friess, Hausdorfer, Bland,
Buchheim and Mayor Schwartze
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
The Resolution approves the Report entitled, "City of
San Juan Capistrano, Landscape Maintenance Districts -
1981" and directs that the Report be sent to the County
Assessor and Tax Collector and the charges assessed to the
individual properties.
RECESS AND RECONVENE
Council recessed to Closed Session at 8:00 P.M. for discussion
of legal matters, the City Clerk being excused therefrom, and
reconvened at 8:40 P.M.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Council, the meeting
was adjourned at 8:42 P.M. to the next regular meeting date of
Tuesday, September 1, 1981, at 7:00 P.M. in the City Council
Chamber.
