Councilman Harrus further noted that this City provides automobile allowances
to other of its employees and the automobile allowance ultimately saves the
City money; that the total salary packaee for Mr. Denhalter was approximately
X12.000 less than the salary package of the nrior City Attorney, resulting in
a net savings; and, that the salary packave was less than currently received
by Mr. Denhalter, who had been offered an increase in salary by his current
emnlover as an enticement to remain on the Job. Councilman Harrus stated
there is a necessity to offer a competitive contract to attract quality
personnel to the City.
