SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO CITY COUNCIL
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
BUSINESS SESSION:
Mayor Farias called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of May 7, 2018, of the
City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano to order at 3:02 p.m. in the
City Council Chamber. Council Member Ferguson led the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL:
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Sergio Farias, and Council Members
Kerry K. Ferguson, Derek Reeve and Pam Patterson, Esq.
COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Mayor Pro Tem Brian L. Maryott

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:

DISCUSSION ITEM:
C1. PROPOSED OPERATING BUDGETS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2018-19 AND
2019-20 AND THE PROPOSED SEVEN-YEAR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEARS 2018-19 THROUGH 2024-25, CONSIDERED
(330.20) — NO FORMAL ACTION TAKEN
Ken AI -Imam, Chief Financial Officer, provided a PowerPoint presentation of the
proposed Operating Budgets for Fiscal Year 2018-19 and 2019-20, and responded
to questions. Steve May, Public Works and Utilities Director, provided a
PowerPoint presentation of the proposed Seven -Year Capital Improvement
Program. Benjamin Siegel, City Manager, and Eric Bauman, Assistant Utilities
Director, responded to questions.
Public Comments: Teresa Romero, Juaneno Band of Mission Indians;
Rhen Kohan, City resident; Matias Belardes, Juaneno Band of Mission
Indians; Patricia Martz, City of Irvine resident; Larry Nielsen, City resident;
Robert Bruch, City resident; and, Bob Cardoza, City resident.
The City Council had consensus on the following:
To use Farm Operations fund as a funding source for ongoing maintenance
costs for the proposed Northwest Open Space Community Park Project.

ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business Mayor Farias adjourned the meeting at 5:23 p.m.
to Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. for Closed Session, and 5:00 p.m. for the public
Business Session, in the City Council Chamber.
