CULTURAL HERITAGE COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
A. ORGANIZATION:
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Chair Lawrence-Adams called the Regular Meeting of the Cultural Heritage
Commission of the City of San Juan Capistrano to order at 4:30 p.m . in the City
Council Chamber.
2 . ROLL CALL:
Commissioners Present: Mechelle Lawrence Adams, Chair
Rhonda DeHaan, Vice-Chair-arrived at 4:34p.m .
William Bonney
Donna Friess
Lorie Porter-arrived at 4:44 p.m.
Staff Present: Joel Rojas, Development Services Director
Sergio Klotz, Assistant Development Services Director
Paul Garcia, Associate Planner
B. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
C. CONSENT CALENDAR:
1. Draft April 25, 2016 Cultural Heritage Commission Minutes. Approved, as
presented, by a 3-0 vote.
D. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
None .
E. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
1. Continued Consideration of establishment of Cultural Heritage
Commission's 2017-2018 Goals (Project Manager : Sergio Klotz).
Sergio Klotz made the staff presentation and responded to questions.
Commissioner Friess made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Bonney, to approve the 2017-2018 goals as presented. The motion
passed by a 5-0 vote.

Friess and Porter.

ABSTAIN: None
F. NEW BUSNESS:
1. Presentation-The Mills Act (Project Manager: Paul Garcia/Sergio Klotz).
Paul Garcia made the staff presentation and responded to questions.
Cultural Heritage Commissioners provided comments and feedback .
Steve Nordick and Grace Southern spoke on this item.
G. COMMISSION/STAFF COMMENTS:
1. Commissioner Porter requested adding an item to the next agenda to
discuss trees along Camino Capistrano north of Junipero Serra Road.
2 . Commissioner DeHaan requested adding an item to the next agenda to
request a letter supporting the proposed Orange County Museum of
Natural History at the Great Park in Irvine.
H. ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, Chair Lawrence Adams adjourned the meeting
at 5:32 p.m. to Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at 4:30 p.m. in the City Council
Chamber.
