CULTURAL HERITAGE COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
A. ORGANIZATION :
1. CALL TO ORDER :
Vice-Chair Banda called the Regular Meeting of the Cultural Heritage
Commission of the City of San Juan Capistrano to order at 4:30p.m. in the City
Council Chamber.
2. ROLL CALL:
Commissioners Present: Nathan Banda , Vice-Chair
Rhonda DeHaan
Christie Smead
Lorie Porter
Commissioners Absent: Mechelle Lawrence-Adams, Chair
STAFF PRESENT: Joel Rojas, Development Services Director
Sergio Klotz, Assistant Development Services Director
Charlie View, Project Manager
B. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None .
C. CONSENT CALENDAR:
1. Draft July 21, 2016 Cultural Heritage Commission Minutes . Approved, as
presented, by a 4-0 vote.
D. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
None.
E. UNFINISHED BUSINESS :
None.
F. NEW BUSNESS:
1. Introduction of the Hamilton Oaks/Swanner House team for property
located at 29943 Camino Capistrano (Assessor Parcel Number 121-050-
03) (Project Manager: Charlie View).
CHC Action Minutes 2 September 27 , 2016
Charlie View, Project Manager, made the staff presentation and
responded to questions.
Chad Kearns & Linda Grace Kearns, Owner/Applicant -provided a
presentation and responded to questions.
Cultural Heritage Commissioners provided comments and feedback to the
Hamilton Oaks team.
G. COMMISSION/STAFF COMMENTS:
1. Inn at the Mission San Juan Capistrano Archaeology Report -Verbal
Update provided by Staff. Chair Banda requested City Council Policy #
601 sent to the entire Cultural Heritage Commission.
2 . Commissioner DeHaan requested that newspaper racks at the train
station be addressed.
H. ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business Vice-Chair Banda adjourned the meeting at 5:50
p.m. to Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at 4:30p.m. in the City Council Chamber.
