Section 9-2.343(c)(3) of Title 9, Land Use Code of the City of San Juan Capistrano:
PC Resolution 13-01-30-01 2 January 30, 2013
The sign program is consistent with the General Plan and Design Guidelines, and is
complementary to the architecture and design of the development project because
they would be consistent with the overall scale of the building and would feature a
single color (dark brown -red) and fairly uniform font style; and,
2. The sign program conforms to all applicable requirements of this Code and any
applicable specific plan or comprehensive development plan because it would be
less than the maximum sign square footage allowed in the Public & Institutional
zone district and the hand -painted style is permitted pursuant MC Section 9-3.547;
and,
3. The sign program is generally compatible with the design character of adjacent
properties and/or rights-of-way because it does not conflict with any other styles or
colors seen at adjacent properties and the hand -painted style is determined to be
appropriate for the Downtown.
THE PLANNING COMMISSION FURTHER FINDS: The founding date of
Mission San Juan Capistrano is significant and should be of equal size to the "Worth a
Visit" quote in the proposed signage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Planning
Commission of the City of San Juan Capistrano hereby approves the Sign Program as
depicted in the plans dated December 20, 2012.
