A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION
16-08-16-01, ESTABLISHING MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS FOR
CITY COUNCIL APPOINTED COMMISSIONS
WHEREAS, Section 2-2.110 of Chapter 2 of Title 2 of the San Juan Capistrano
Municipal Code provides for membership on City Council appointed Commissions and
Boards to be established by a Resolution of the City Council; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
San Juan Capistrano does hereby amend Resolution 16-08-16-01 to establish the
following membership requirements on City Council appointed Commissions:
a. Cultural Heritage Commission: Membership on the Cultural Heritage Commission
shall consist of five (5) members, two (2) of whom are not required to be a resident of
the City.
b. Planning Commission: Membership on the Planning Commission shall consist of
five (5) members.
c. Parks Recreation Youth and Senior Services Trails and Equestrian Commission:
Membership on the Parks Recreation Youth and Senior Services Trails and
Equestrian Commission shall consist of seven 7 members.
d. Utilities Commission: Membership on the Utilities Commission shall consist of five (5)
members.
e. Desi n Review Committee: Membership on the Design Review Committee shall
consist of two (2) at large members and one (1) at large alternate to serve in the
absence of the appointed regular member; and one (1) Planning Commission member
and one (1) Planning Commission alternate to serve in the absence of the appointed
regular member. The Planning Commission member and alternate to be appointed by
the Planning Commission and the two (2) at large members and the one (1) at large
alternate to be appointed by the City Council, who have a design background in either
planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or similar experience related to the
design of physical improvements and buildings.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a majority of the number of appointed
members for each of the foregoing commissions shall constitute a quorum for the
transaction of business of each commission.
