Hi Maria-how are you? Hope all is well! Can you share this email to the City Council members/City
Manager for the scheduled session tonight?
I am reaching out to the SJC City Council members on our position about the future of Blenheim. I
understand that the City is evaluating their position on the Blenheim contract which is about to expire
this year.
Blenheim was one of our top 5 accounts in 2015. The production of the Blenheim group increased
year over year since the hotel opened in 2012. Blenheim room revenue was close to the 300K mark
L Y. This does not include the other hotels
in San Juan Capistrano that Blenheim has relationship with. The increased in production of Blenheim
group in the market does not only translate to hotel spending-but also strong revenue/support to
all local restaurants, shops and
other revenue generating avenues that the City has to offer for visitors/guests.
Losing Blenheim in the market can significantly impact the City's revenue in taxes coming from the
hospitality segment. The City of San Juan Capistrano has no strong corporate accounts for the hotels
to drive. The market is leisure/transient driven -and the
Hotels need a solid base to thrive long term. With the proposed 2 new additional hotels in downtown
San Juan Capistrano-these hotels, including ours, will need the support of the City to encourage
more businesses to stay.
Based on our actual business results in the last 3 years -Blenheim has been a very strong performer
in the market. The Show Park commands the respect of the Equestrian community, not just in the
US-but the rest of the International community. With Blenheim's aggressive marketing
Strategy and International standard Equestrian events-we have guests from all over the
world/country staying for a week or more to attend the Equestrian competition events.
As one of the business leaders in the City-I strongly feel that we need to support Blenheim to stay.
I can say this based on their actual market potential and what they can deliver to the City revenue
wise.
Thank you for the partnership. Have a wonderful week!
Warm Regards,
Grace
