It is a policy of the City Council that planted street medians will be allowed in the City
only if the maintenance cost is retained by a special assessment district. The Council does
encourage planted street medians in the downtown areas, if the long-term maintenance
cost is absorbed by the local businesses that will benefit from the aesthetic enhancement
of the planted street median.
