Center Dear City Council Members: Els a long time San Juan Capistrano resident I am hoping that the Riding Park and Ortega Center Leases will be renewed. We have plenty of parks available for outdoor recreation such as soccer, baseball etc. however, no other city in Orange County can boast of having world-class equestrian grounds that conte close to our Riding Park. It is a great place to bring horse crazy kids to enjoy a day of being close to horses and to learn about different types of riding. Ortega Center is another gem of San Juan. They offer trail rides and horseback riding lessons for reasonable rates, which allows a chance to sit on a horse to those who may otherwise never have the opportunity. Both of these properties attract residents and people fronn out of town due to the fact that there are so few places in Southern California where we can enjoy horses. Our Local businesses benefit from increased revenue from people these venues attract. Please consider the fact that one can go to several parks in San Juan or any other city in Orange County to play a variety of sports. If you turn these two parks into more of the same we will Lose our unique advantage to attract people from all over and lose their spending dollars in the process. Let's continue to distinguish ourselves as the horse community that we have been and to capitalize on revenue that these places bring in to our city. Respectfully, Michelle von Urff San Juan Capistrano Resident
