Reply -To: Vicki Shook - ' Hello Mary, 1/1812016 Ela I have written the council members stating my position on the intention to add an asphalt bike trail to the existing berm trail. Would you please forward them my e-mail? All walkers, joggers, bicyclists, strollers and equines have enjoyed the Berm together wonderfully since the 70's. San Juan Capistrano offers more trails for bicyclists than to equines. By adding in a class 1 asphalt bike trail on the existing berm trail would create heavier bike traffic which is incompatible with equine riders. Currently the few bikers that enjoy this trail give equine riders the common courtesy where they will stop 8v wait for an equine rider to pass before continuing on in order not to spook the horse. It would be quite difficult to share heavy bike traffic on the berm with horses that are easily spooked by bicyclists. The Berm always has and is working just fine as it is therefore I see no need for any change. Thank you, Vicki Shook
