As a rider on the BERM for the last 14 years, I would very much like it to remain as is, all dirt. This has been a horse trail for many, many years and we equestrians have all, luckily, managed to share the BERM with some bicyclists for those years. While I will always maintain, that bikes and horses do not mix and it will always be an accident waiting to happen, we are stuck with multi use trails and keeping the BERM as is, (all dirt) will hopefully slow down some cyclists and make the mixing of bikes and horses a little less dangerous. And by the way, please don't tell me that if I can't control my horse, I shouldn't be riding!! Any real horse person knows that by nature, horses are flight animals and any horse can behave differently than normal at any given moment. Since there is another option for the Sea to Mountain bike trail (San Juan Creek road to Riding Park), I think we are keeping all the users of the BERM a little safer by leaving the dirt trail alone. Thank You for your time. Gail
