ORDINANCE NO. 180
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
ESTABLISHING AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE BUILDING
CODE OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE AS THE BUILDING CODE
OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO AND REPEALING
ORDINANCES 116, 140 AND 151
The City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. There is hereby adopted by the City Council of
the City of San Juan Capistrano for the purpose of requiring permits
and providing rules and regulations for the erection, construction,
enlargement, alteration, repair, improving, removal, conversion, demo-
lition, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area of buildings, structu-
res in the City of San Juan Capistrano, that certain Ordinance of the
County of Orange, State of California, known as "ORDINANCE NO. 2488.
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES 2 AND 4 OF DIVISION 1 OF TITLE 7 OF
THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, CALIFORNIA, AND
ADDING ARTICLE 2 TO DIVISION 1 OF TITLE 7, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1970 EDITION, VOLUME I, WITH APPENDIX AND
EXCLUSIONS." Three (3) copies of said Ordinance and three (3) copies
of said Uniform Building Code, 1970 Edition, Volume I, with Appendix
are on file with the City Clerk and are open to public inspection.
The same is hereby adopted and incorporated herein as though fully
set forth in length.
SECTION 2. In the event of any dispute or disagreement as
to the administration of this Ordinance, the determination of the City
Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano reserves the right to waive,
upon review and determination of the City Council, any provision of
this Ordinance.
SECTION 3. Ordinances 116, 140 and 151 are hereby repealed,
except that any matters commenaed thereunder shall be processed to
completion under its terms.
SECTION 4. This ordinance is declared to be an urgency
measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace,
health and safety and shall become effective immediately. The facts
constituting the urgency are: this Ordinance is administered and
enforced by the Department of Building and Safety of the County of
Orange, and canhot be enforced until it is in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. Before the expiration of fifteen days after
the passage thereof, this ordinance shall be published once in the
Coastline Dispatch, a newspaper of general circulation, together with
the names of the City Council voting for and against the same.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of July, 1971.
