Resolution Number OCWD NO. 4 71-2-22-11 RESOLUTION NO. 71-2-22-1 2 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF ORANGE COUNTY WATERWORKS DISTRICT NO. 4 3 REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO AUTHORIZE THE 4 CONTINUATION OF DISTRICTS EMPLOYEES ON THE COUNTY'S HEALTH AND ACCIDENT INSUR- 5 ANCE PROGRAM 6 WHEREAS, Orange County Waterworks District No. 4 is a 7 special district formed pursuant to the County Waterworks Law of 8 the State of California; and 9 WHEREAS; on or about March 20, 1970, the said District be - 10 came a subsidiary district of the City of San Juan Capistrano and 11 is presently governed by the City Council of said city who act 12 as its ex—officio Board of Directors; and 13 WHEREAS, aside from the aforesaid change in the governing board, 14 the said District continues to exist and function as a County Water - 15 works District with title to its property vested in the County of 16 Orange, and functions such as payroll, depository and accounting 17 performed by County departments; and 18 WHEREAS, the District has been notified by the County personnel 19 department that effective March 1, 1971, employees of Orange County 20 Waterworks District No. 4 will no longer be covered by the Orange 21 County employees health and accident insurance program; and 22 WHEREAS, the District has, since receipt of the aforesaid 23 letter, endeavored to find satisfactory alternative insurance programs; 24 and 25 WHEREAS, the District has-been advised that it may petition the 26 Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange for authorization to 27 have District's employees continue under the County health and accident 28 insurance plan. 29 NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved �J 30 1. That this Board does hereby petition the Honorable Board of 31 Supervisors of the County of Orange for their authorization to main - 32 tain the employees of Orange County Waterworks District No. 4 as �J 1 2 3 4 5 6 7. 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 participating members of the Orange County employee's Health and Accident Insurance Program. 2. That pending the derision of your Honorable Board, this Board does further respectfully request that the present coverage be extended to and including the 30th day of April, 1971. .
