Resolution Number 11-02-01-04RESOLUTION NO. 11-02-01-04 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING SUPPORT FOR FEDERAL FUNDING FOR FY 2011112 CITY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS WHEREAS, the Office of Senator Barbara Boxer has provided support to the City of San Juan Capistrano in the past with its efforts to obtain federal funding for infrastructure and other community programs; and, WHEREAS, City staff has prepared a request for $600,000 in grant funds for the Ground Water Recovery Plant Expansion and Regional Domestic Distribution Facility in order to reduce demands on Sacramento Bay Delta and the Colorado River and to produce local water supplies in case of drought or emergency; and, WHEREAS, City staff has prepared a request for $700,000 in grant funds for the environmental and design phases of the Alipaz Street Extension in an effort to connect Alipaz Street and Oso Road. The new road will relieve traffic throughout town, including at several Freeway off -ramps; and WHEREAS, the City has submitted two 2012 Fiscal Year Appropriation Request forms to the Office of Senator Barbara Boxer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano does hereby 1. Express its sincere appreciation for the efforts of Senator Barbara Boxer in support of our efforts to provide infrastructure improvements that improve our community as well as enhance regional deficiencies. 2. Approve the request for the 2012 Fiscal Year Appropriations Request of federal grant funding. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 1st day of February 2011.
