RESOLUTION NO. 64-5-11-1
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO DECLARING ITS OPPOSITION TO
DISCONTINUANCE OF CUiMMUTER SERVICE BY THE A.T.&
S.F. RAILWAY.
WHEREAS, The City Council has been advised of the application',
of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway to the Public Utilities
Commission for permission to abandon certain passenger services be-
tween the City of San Juan Capistrano and Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that inasmuch as there exists
no comparable substitute commuter service between the two cities it
is in the best interests of the City to advise the Public Utilities
Commission of its objection to the discon inuance of such commuter
services,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of San Juan Capistrano that it request, and it does hereby request
the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California to con-
tinue the present commuter service since no other commuter trans-
portation is offered in the area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is here-
1by directed to either send a copy of this resolution to the said
Public Utilities Commission or to draft a resolution for forwarding
to the commission.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 11th day of May, 1964,
fat a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Juan
Capistrano, by the following vote, to wit:

OLIVARES and DURNFORD
