RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, DIRECTING THE
ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC NUISANCES UNDER STATUTES OF
1915, PAGE 841, AND AMENDMENTS THERETO, AND PRO-
VIDING FOR THE DECLARATION OF WEEKS, RUBBISH,
REFUSE AND DIRT UPON STREETS, SIDEWALKS, PARKWAYS
OR PRIVATE PROPERTY TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE
The City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano does hereby resolve and
order as follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the
State of California entitled "An Act Authorizing Municipal Authorities to Declare -
Noxious or Dangerous Weeds Growing upon the Streets orSidewalks or upon Private
Property to be a Public Nuisance, Creating a Lien upon the Property Fronting upon
Such Streets or Sidewalks or upon which such Nuisance Exists, for the Cost of
Abating the Same" (Statutes 1915, Page 841, and Amendments thereof and thereto),
the City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano, California, determines and
declares that -
(a) All weeds growing upon the streets, sidewalks or private property
in the City which, when mature, bear wingy or downy seeds, which
will attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when
dry, or which are otherwise noxious or dangerous, and
(b) All rubbish, refuse, and dirt upon parkways, sidewalks, or private
property in the City
are hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and that property fronting upon such
streets or sidewalks, or upon or in front of which such nuisance exists, is parti-
cularly described as follows:
SECTION 2. That Monday, the 27th day of May, 1963, at the hour of eight
o'closk P.M., at the Council Chambers in the City Hall, 31762 Camino Capistrano,
San Juan Capistrano, California, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and
place for the City Council to hear and consider all objections or protests, if —
any, to the proposed abatement of weeds growing upon the streets, sidewalks or
private property in this City, and the abatement of all rubbish, refuse and dirt
upon parkways, sidewalks or private property in the City.
SECTION 3• The Director of Public Works of the City of San Juan Capistrano
is hereby instructed to prepare and post notices to destroy said weeds and to
abate all rubbish, refuse and dirt upon parkways, sidewalks and private property
in the City, as required by law, said notices to be posted at least five days
prior to the 27th day of May, 1963, and shall be conspicuously posted on or in
front of said property on or in front of which said nuisance exists, as follows:

(a) One notice to each separately owned parcel of property of not over
fifty feet frontage;
(b) Not more than two notices to any such parcel of one hundred feet
frontage, or less;
(c) Notices at not more than one hundred feet apart if the frontage of
such a parcel is greater than one hundred feet.
The heading of such notices shall be: - "Notice to Destroy Weeds and Remove Rubbish,
Refuse and Dirt", in letters of not less than one inch in height, and the form of
such notices shall be as required by Section 39566 of the Government Code and any
amendments thereto.
