RESOLUTION NO. 62-6-11-1
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS TO REVISE COUNTY AMBULANCE SERVICE
AND CERTAIN HOSPITAL CHARGES
WHEREAS, the City Council learned from the South Coast
Hospital that the ambulance service under contract to the County of
Orange was unsatisfactory in that extended dalays have been experienced;
and
WHEREAS, after discussion it was determined by the City Council
that in its opinion it would be reasonable for the County of Orange
to accept responsibility for the first days hospital charge along with
emergency surgery if such surgery be involved; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best
interests of the City to advise the Board of Supervisors of its position
on such matters.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Juan
Capistrano request and it does hereby respectfully request the Board
of Supervisors of the County of Orange to give serious consideration to
alternate methods of handling its ambulance contract service to the end
that the extended time delays of which complaint has been made can be
eliminated.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors be urged
to consider the possibility of having the County of Orange accept the
responsibility of the first day's hospital charge along with emergency
surgery if such surgery is involved.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 11th day of June, 1962,
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Juan
Capistrano, by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEN: NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: CLIFF
