Resolution Number 73-4-23-2RESOLUTION NO. 73-4-23-2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO SUPPORTING THE UCI SCHOOL OF MEDI- CINE ON -CAMPUS TEACHING HOSPITAL. WHEREAS, on the November 1972 General Election Ballot, the people of Orange County overwhelmingly approved Proposition 2 for Health Sciences Facilities, a construction Bond Act which provides $155.9 - million to be used for Health Sciences Capital Outlay needs of the University of California; and WHEREAS, it was clearly understood by that funds from the Bond Act would be used new facilities for the School of Medicine an on -campus Teaching Hospital; and WHEREAS, the people of Orange County basis; and the people of Orange County to provide urgently needed at the Irvine Campus including supported the Bond Act on this WHEREAS, a Teaching Hospital located on the Irvine Campus will much better serve the needs of the medical school and thereby the interests of the people of Orange County and the State of California; and WHEREAS, Questions are now being raised and suggestions are being made that the Teaching Hospital be located elsewhere than on the campus of the University of California, Irvine; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano, that we strongly support the location of the Teaching Hospital on the campus of the University of California, Irvine, and strongly urge that all public officials, both elected and appointed; at every level of Government approve and vigorously support construction of an on -campus Teaching Hospital on the campus of the University of California, Irvine.
