Resolution Number 71-7-19-1111 RESOLUTION NO. 71-7-19-1 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO EXPRESSING OPPOSITION TO ASSEMBLY BILL 2294 WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 2294 purports to amend Section 18300 of the Health and Safety Code by taking away the authority of local government to prohibit specified mobilehome parks, travel trailers, or tent camps in certain zones within cities and by otherwise restricting local control over such mobilehome parks, travel trailers and tent camps; and WHEREAS, there are in the City of San Juan Capistrano 1,003 mobilehome units authorized or already in existence; and WHEREAS, the ratio of mobilehome units to all other resident- ial units in the City of San Juan Capistrano is approximately five (5) mobilehome sites for each seven (7) residential sites in the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano is vitally concerned with the proliferation of mobilehome parks, travel trailers and tent camps within the City and earnestly believe that the location and regulation of all mobilehome parks, travel trailers and tent camps within city limits must be subject to local City control. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano does hereby express its opposition to the passage of Assembly Bill 2294, and urgently requests all Assemblymen and Senators to vigorously voice their objections thereto.
