RESOLUTION NO. 74-12-18-3
Relating to Request for Increased AHFP Funds
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO REQUESTING THE COUNTY
OF ORANGE TO INCREASE THEIR ALLOCATION FROM
ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT OF ALIPAZ STREET FROM CAMINO DEL
AVION TO 1,800 FEET NORTHERLY
WHEREAS, the city of San Juan Capistrano desires to improve
Alipaz Street from Camino Del Avion to 1,800 feet northerly; and
WHEREAS, Alipaz Street is an important artery in the County of
Orange and of general County interest; and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the
Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires,
to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway
Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction
or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors did include in the 1973-74
Fiscal Year Budget funds for the improvement of Alipaz Street as
Project No. 674 in the Arterial Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
city of San Juan Capistrano hereby requests the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange to increase their allocation to the City
from County funds to the amount of $100,000.00 , said amount to
be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in
the improvement of Alipaz Street from Camino Del Avion to 1,800
feet northerly.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work on
Alipaz Street in the manner provided, is in the general County
interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the city of
San Juan Capistrano agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial
Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the
cost of improvements and rights-of-way will be available for the
fiscal year 1974-75.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18thday of December 1974
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the city of San Juan
Capistrano by the following vote, to wit:
