RESOLUTION NO. 74-10-16-1
RELATING TO FARM LABOR CAMPS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING THE HEALTH
OFFICER OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE AS THE ENFORCEMENT
AGENT FOR THOSE PROVISIONS OF THE EMPLOYEE HOUSING
ACT RELATING TO FARM LABOR CAMPS
WHEREAS, Section 2640 of the California Labor Code provides
that cities and counties may assume the responsibility for the
enforcement of those provisions of the Employee Housing Act relating
to Labor Camps in accordance with Chapter 4, Part 9, Division 2, of
the said Labor Code; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange has elected to enforce said
provisions within the County of Orange commencing January 1, 1975; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Health Officer is willing and
capable of providing the aforesaid enforcement services within the
City of San Juan Capistrano; and
WHEREAS, this City Council finds and determines that there
are labor camps within the City which are subject to the aforesaid
Act, and that proper enforcement of the Employee Housing Act relating
thereto can best be accomplished by the aforesaid Health Officer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City of San Juan
Capistrano does hereby assume the responsibility for the enforcement
of those provisions of the Employee Housing Act relating to Labor Camps
in accordance with Chapter 4, Part 9, Division 2, of the California
Labor Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that effective January 1, 1975, the
City of San Juan Capistrano does elect to designate the Orange County
Health Officer as the agent for the enforcement of the foregoing Act
in the City of San Juan Capistrano.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is hereby
authorized and directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the
Orange County Board of Supervisors, the Orange County Health Officer,
and the Department of Housing and Community Development of the State
of California.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of
October , 1974, by the following vote, to wit:

and Mayor Byrnes
