Resolution Number 74-3-12-2111 RESOLUTION NO. 74-3--12-2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO COMMENDING EDWARD S. CHERMAK FOR SERVICES TO HIS COMMUNITY WHEREAS, COUNCILMAN CHERMAK, having first assumed office on April 11, 1961, has become the ex -officio historian of the City; and Y. WHEREC EDWARD S. CHERMAK has, during his tenure of office, seen a mission village burgeon into a little city with big city problems, and has very often been the only authentic source of historical happenings in the community; and WHEREAS, COUNCILMAN CHERMAK has distinguished himself as a courageous and outspoken advocate of any principle for which he stood; and WHEREAS, COUNCILMAN CHERMAK was one of the leaders who was instrumental in causing the government of Orange County Waterworks District No. 4 to be transferred to the City of San Juan Capistrano; and WHEREAS, EDWARD CHERMAK'S intimate knowledge of City government in the City of San Juan Capistrano, and his prag- matic approach to its problems has made him an invaluable member of the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano that EDWARD S. CHERMAK be, and is hereby, commended for his outstanding and enduring service to his City, and his stimulating approach to oftentimes mundane matters of city government will be long remembered. As a repository of historical information, he will continue to be of invaluable service tot he City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that COUNCILMAN EDWARD S. CHERMAK be, and is hereby, designated ex -officio councilman emeritus and relegated to join the ranks of "one of the outstanding".
