A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO AMENDING THE PERSONNEL RULES
AND EMPLOYEES' CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore adopted personnel _ules
and a classification and salary plan for certain employees of the City
of San Juan Capistrano; and
WHEREAS, a review and re-evaluation of the entire personnel system
indicates that certain amendments are in order and are in the best interests
of the City of San Juan Capistrano,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
1. The Classification and Salary Plan which was adopted by
Resolution No. 72-1-19-1 be and is hereby amended to show that the position
of Secretary I shall require the employee to take shorthand at the rate
of 80 words per minute and type at the rate of 55 words per minute, and
the position of Secretary II shall require the employee to take shorthand
at the rate of 80 words per minute and type at the rate of 60 words per
minute. `
2. Salary ranges for Construction Inspector, Director of Finance,
Director of Planning and Administrative Secretary shall be:
a. Construction Inspector Range 21.5
b, Director of Flnailce Range 33.5
C. Director of Planning Range 34
d. Administrative Secretary Range 21.5
3. Rule XVII, Section 10 a) of the Personnel Rules is revised to
read:
"Overtime shall be compensated by cash or equivalent time
off at the discretion of employee at the rate of time and one-half, up
to a maximum City expense of $5,000 per fiscal year, thereafter at
discretion of City Manager."
4. Section 10 b) is added to Rule XVII of the Personnel Rules:
Employees required to be on call or "standby" for emergencies
outside of regular working hours shall be compensated at the rate of
$25 per weekend. In addition, a minimum of two (2) hours at time and
one-half shall be paid City employees called out on assignments outside
of regular working hours.
5. All City employees with the exception of the City Clerk and
the City Manager shall receive a general salary increase retroactive
to July 1, 1973, of:
a. 68 of the basic salary in effect June 30, 1973;
b. An additional 4% of the aforesaid basic salary to
be effective January 1, 1974.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Salary Table attached hereto as
Appendix "A" and by this reference made a part hereof, be and is hereby
the salary schedule for employees of the City of San Juan Capistrano
for July 1 through December 31, 1973; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an adjusted salary table incorporating
the 48 increase stipulated in Section 5 (b) above be put into effect by
the Finance Department commencing January 1, 1974.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of July, 1973, by the
following vote, to wit:
