COMMENDING JAMES K. WEATHERS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, James K. Weathers was elected to serve as
Councilman for the City of San Juan Capistrano in April 1972, and
has undertaken his duties energetically and conscientiously; and
WHEREAS, James K. Weathers served in the capacity of
Mayor from March 1975, to March 1976, and during his term demon-
strated outstanding leadership and tireless devotion to his
office and duties; and
WHEREAS, during his four years as Councilman, James K.
Weathers was instrumental in the formulation, guidance and adop-
tion of the General Plan for the City of San Juan Capistrano, and
has diligently promoted the goals therein; and
WHEREAS, James K. Weathers has demonstrated his concerns
for environmental quality, cultural preservation and community
pride by spearheading drives to further these goals; and
WHEREAS, James K. Weathers was instrumental in bringing
the American Freedom Train to the City of San Juan Capistrano and
officiated at the American Freedom Train ceremonies commemorating
the Bicentennial of both the United States and the City of San
Juan Capistrano; and
WHEREAS, during his term of Councilman and Mayor,
James K. Weathers has demonstrated unique leadership qualities,
fairness, and the utmost concern for all the citizens of the City;
and
WHEREAS, James K. Weathers completed his Council term
in March 1976, and is held in high esteem among his peers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Juan
Capistrano does hereby recognize the aforementioned accomplish-
ments and express its deep appreciation to James K. Weathers for
his exemplary service to the community, and offer its highest
commendation for a job well done.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of March,
1976) by the following vote, to wit:
