RESOLUTION NO. 75-7-2-2
DEL OBISPO STREET AHFP FUNDS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING
THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCREASE THEIR ALLOCA-
TION FROM ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM
FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF DEL OBISPO STREET FROM
LOS RIOS STREET TO CAMINO CAPISTRANO - AHFP NO. 686
WHEREAS, the City of San Juan Capistrano has improved
Del Obispo Street from Los Rios Street to Camino Capistrano; and
WHEREAS, Del Obispo Street is an important artery in
the County of Orange and of general County interest; and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors did include in the
1973-74 Fiscal Year Budget funds for the improvement of Del
Obispo Street as Project No. 686 in the Arterial Highway Financing
Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of San Juan Capistrano requests the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange to increase their allocation to the City
from County funds to the amount of $33,890.63, said amount to be
matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in
the improvement of Del Obispo Street from Los Rios Street to
Camino Capistrano.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said
work on Del Obispo Street in the manner provided, is in the
general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the
City of San Juan Capistrano agrees with the basic concepts of
the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further states that
its share of the cost of improvements and right-of-way has
already been paid for.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of July_,
1975, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Byrnes, Nash and Mayor pro tem Sweeney
