Resolution Number 76-7-21-3RESOLUTION NO, 76-7-21-3 ELECTION TV COVERAGE A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, OPPOSING THE INADEQUATE TELEVISION COVERAGE OF THE ORANGE COUNTY ELECTIONS WHEREAS, the County of Orange is the second most popu- lous county in the State of California, with a population of nearly two million residents; and WHEREAS, the lack of a, commercial television facility within Orange County makes it dependent upon the Los Angeles television stations for news coverage; and WHEREAS, television coverage of the June, 1976, Primary Election was completely inadequate with regard to Orange County congressional races and other local propositions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano deplores and objects to the inadequate television coverage of Orange County congressional elections and other ballot issues. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the San Juan Capistrano City Council urges and endorses more complete coverage of Orange County election issues by commercial television stations in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of San Juan Capistrano is hereby ordered to transmit copies of this Resolution to all commercial television stations in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, as well as to all member cities of the League of California Cities, and the Board of Supervisors of Orange County.
