RESOLUTION NO. 80-8-20-2
AMENDMENT TO CITY'S CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLANS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 72-1-19-1, THE CITY'S
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLANS
WHEREAS, Section 2 of Rule V and Section 2 0£ Rule VI
of Resolution No. 72-3-27-3, the City's Personnel Rules and
Regulations, provide that Resolution No. 72-1-19-1, the City's
Classification and Salary Plans, may be amended by Resolution of
the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the orderly administration of the personnel
management affairs of the City requires that amendments be made
to the City's Classification and Salary Plans; and,
WHEREAS, a notice of a public hearing declaring the
intent of the City Council to amend the City's Classification and
Salary Plans was duly noted and posted in accordance with the
City's Personnel Rules and Regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of San Juan Capistrano does hereby make and adopt the
following amendments to the City's Classification and Salary
Plans:
SECTION 1. Amendments to Classification Plan.
The City's Classification Plan is hereby amended and
revised as follows:
A. ADDITION of position classification of PLAN
CHECKER I, as specfiied in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and by this reference made a part hereof.
B. AMENDMENT of position classification specifications
for RECREATION LEADER I and RECREATION LEADER II,
as specified respectively in Exhibits "B" and "C"
attached hereto and by this reference made a part
hereof.
C. DELETION, effective September 1, 1980, of the
following position classifications:

DEFINITION

Under supervision and direction, incumbent assumes and performs a wide variety of
activities related to the receipt, review and inspection of construction and building
plans to ascertain conformity with applicable codes, ordinances and regulations, and
the coordination and processing of building permit applications.
'REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Receives and examines building plans, specifications and calculations for accuracy
and completeness; recommends approval, modification or rejection of building and
construction plans in accordance with pertinent structural, mechanical, electrical,
plumbing, and other such codes; handles inquiries and requests for services from
the public and staff; advises the public an general interpretation and application
of building codes to building design and construction; calculates building permit
and plan check fees and other such construction -related fees as assigned; prepares
reports and correspondence; prepares and maintains records and files; performs
counter work and other related office assignments; occasionally performs field
inspection assignments; may be required to perform overtime work; and assumes and
performs other related duties, assignments and responsibilities as may be required.

DEFINITION
Under general supervision and direction, incumbent assumes and performs
a wide variety of activities related to the promotion, organization, conduct,
and supervision of recreation, social and cultural programs and activities,
and as related to the operation and conduct of a passenger transport program.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Conducts, participates in and supervises recreation, social and cultural _
programs and activities such as arts and crafts, sporting events, dancing,
storytelling, puppetry, nature activities, and such; participates in and
supervises special tournaments, meets and programs; conducts and participates
in recreation, social and cultural field trips and outings) provides
assistance to recreation, social and cultural organizations and clubs;
assists in the preparation of announcements, bulletins, manuals, and
related public relations and information notices; insures that recreation
programs are conducted in a safe and proper manner; may render first aid
or emergency medical assistance; prepares and maintains records, files, logs,
and reports; handles inquiries and requests for services from the public and
staff; requisitions and maintains work supply and material quantities and
needs; operates and maintains passenger transport and recreation vans and
vehicles; works a varied schedule and assignment; and assumes and performs
other related duties, assignments and responsibilities as assigned.
