Resolution Number 94-7-19-6093 RESOLUTION • 94-7-19-6 INVENTORY OF HISO: AND CULTURA :►liu: ly 1► cul' 11 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN INVENTORY OF HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL LANDMARKS AND ADDING THE FERRIS KELLYIEL PEON COMPLEX OF BUILDINGS LOCATED AT 26822, 26832, AND 26842 ORTEGA HIGHWAY, AND 31752, 31754, AND 31762 CAMINO CAPISTRANO, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 92-9-15-6 WHEREAS, the applicant, the San Juan Capistrano Community Redevelopment Agency, has requested that the Ferris Kelly/El Peon Complex of three buildings be added to the Inventory of Historic and Cultural Resources; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Director has determined that the project is categorically exempt, Class 8, which consists of actions taken by regulatory agencies as authorized by local ordinance to assure the maintenance, restoration, enhancement or protection of the environment where the regulatory process involves procedures for protection of the environment; and, WHEREAS, the City's Cultural Heritage Commission, at its June 28, 1994, meeting, recommended approval of the listing of the buildings on the City's Inventory; and, WHEREAS, the City Council does hereby find and determine that the Ferris Kelly/El Peon Complex of buildings are culturally, historically and architecturally significant, and represent elements of the City's cultural, social, economic and political heritage. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that based upon the preceding finding, the City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano does hereby adopt the Inventory of Historical and Cultural Landmarks, as shown on Attachment 1. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Resolution No. 92-9-15-6 is hereby rescinded. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 19th day of July 1994.
