A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN
CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF
APPLICATIONS FOR THE 1996-1997 MEASURE M SIGNAL IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority has issued a call for
projects for Measure M Signal Improvement Programs; and,
WHEREAS, the City of San Juan Capistrano has a sophisticated system of
interconnected traffic signals which would benefit from certain improvements; and,
WHEREAS, these certain improvements are eligible for funding through the Measure
M Signal Improvement Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San
Juan Capistrano does hereby approve the submission of applications for the 1996-1997 Measure M
Signal Improvement Program for the following projects:
' 1. Installation of traffic signal pre-emption equipment for the intersections near
the railroad tracks on Del Obispo Street and Camino Capistrano, Paseo Adelanto and Alipaz Street.
2. Installation of volume and occupancy detection devices for the continuous
monitoring of traffic flows and volumes to enhance the operation of the City's traffic signal
coordination system.
3. Installation of telephone connections to the traffic signals at Rancho Viejo
Road and Golf Club Drive; Rancho Viejo Road and Calle Arroyo; Stonehill Drive and Camino
Capistrano; and, Junipero Serra and Camino Capistrano. Upgrade of the master controller at EI
Camino Real and Ortega Highway
