RESOLUTION NO. 96-6-18-5
SUPPORTING THE REQUEST FOR CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
DIRECTIONAL SIGNS LOCATED IN DANA POINT
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN
CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE REQUEST FOR CITY OF
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO DIRECTIONAL SIGNS LOCATED IN DANA POINT
WHEREAS, the City of Dana Point had previously sought the City of San Juan
Capistrano's assistance with directional signage to their community; and,
WHEREAS, the City of San Juan Capistrano now desires reciprocal assistance in
properly identifying access to its City from the Pacific Coast Highway; and,
WHEREAS, appropriate directional signage will reduce traffic congestion, promote
and enhance public safety; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the City's best economic interest to enhance the regional business
' climate in the south county cities area; and,
WHEREAS, Caltrans has requested City of San Juan Capistrano approval of a
resolution supporting these sign request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San
Juan Capistrano does hereby supports as follows:
SECTION 1.
The establishment of a "San Juan Capistrano 3 mi." sign on southbound Pacific Coast
Highway prior to Del Obispo.
SECTION 2.
The establishment of a "San Juan Capistrano 3 mi." sign on northbound Pacific Coast
Highway prior to Del Obispo.

SECTION 3.
The establishment of a "San Juan Capistrano 3 mi." sign on northbound Harbor Drive
prior to Pacific Coast Highway.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 18th day of June . 1996.
