As shown in the snip, there is an SMWD easement (hi-lighted yellow) in the street (I have attached the easement document), if the work ventures into the public right of way and easement, you will need to apply for an Encroachment Permit (EP). But if all work is staying on the property, you won’t require an EP from SMWD. As a remodel, of sorts, you will need to get a Sanitation Clearance. These are fee of charge and are only 7 questions. Good morning, We have applied for a Building Permit with the City of San Juan Capistrano for the installation of four (4) Sport Court lights located at 32221 Cook Lane San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. The City has asked us to contact you to confirm/verify there is no Encroachment Permit required by your agency for the work described and shown on the attached drawings. There will be excavation for the foundations for the lights and trenching for the wiring required. I’ve attached the drawings. The foundations for the four lights are 18 inch diameter and 48 inches deep and the trenching will be 24 inches deep. I did call Dig Alert (A250630484-00A) back in March and met with your representative on site. No issues were identified.
